Free 'Choice of Repairer' Seminars

Hear local and international experts provide an update on the progress of the 'Choice of Repairer' campaign in Europe, USA and Australia.

The Choice of Repairer campaign was launched in Australia in April 2009 by the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) on behalf of Australia's independent aftermarket. The campaign is modelled on similar successful campaigns in North America and Europe. The aim of the Choice of Repairer Campaign is to protect choice and competition in vehicle repair, servicing, replacement parts and accessories sector by eliminating any technical or legal barriers that impact on the Australian consumers' right to have their vehicle serviced, maintained and repaired at competitive prices in the workshop of their choice.

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is a Washington based association with over 23,000 member and affiliates that manufacture, distribute and sell motor vehicle parts, accessories, service, tool, equipment, materials and supplies. Through its membership, AAIA represents more than 100,000 repair shops, parts stores and distribution outlets.

The AAIA is leading the Right to Repair Campaign in North America and lobbying for the introduction of a Motor Vehicle Owners Right to Repair Act which prevents vehicle manufacturers and others from unfairly restricting access to the information, parts and tools necessary to accurately diagnose, repair, re-program or install automotive replacement parts.
